The Bonding Corner provides online psychological counseling for people in Pakistan and overseas. Sessions with psychologist Zahid Sohail cover depression, anxiety, stress, anger, marriage and family concerns in English, Urdu or Punjabi. Audio and video individual appointments last 60 minutes, couple appointments last 90 minutes, and text chat is available in 7, 14 or 30 day packages. The first 10-minute introductory call is free for first-time clients in any format.
Coming on your own
One empty chair does not end the conversation.
You do not need both people in the room to start.
A first session can begin while your partner is still saying no. Attending alone is a valid starting point, not a lesser version of relationship counseling.
You can work on your own part of the pattern, decide what you actually want, and work out how to say it. Some partners join later. Some never do, and the work still holds.
The whole picture
Two kinds of work, one session.
Mental health and relationships are rarely as separate as people expect. Whichever door you come in through, the session follows the actual problem.
General mental health
Depression, anxiety, stress, anger and emotional regulation concerns that can be discussed without reducing them to a personal weakness.
Relationships
A specialism built across marriage, couples, family and premarital work, and the specific ways those go wrong.
Three formats
Pick the one your house allows.
A call needs a private room and an hour nobody walks into. If you do not have that, writing may work instead. It avoids a live call, though privacy still depends on who can access your device and account.
Audio or video
Rs. 2,00060 minutes, one person
One to one
Camera on or off. You talk, Zahid asks the questions, and by the end you usually have a clearer view of the pattern rather than the last argument.
Both partners
Rs. 3,00090 minutes, joint session
Couple session
Not two people taking turns to complain. There are ground rules, the counselor stays neutral, and one person does not get to run the hour.
Written, no call
Rs. 1,000from, 7 days of access
Text chat
Written counseling over 7, 14 or 30 days instead of a scheduled call. For anyone who shares a room, cannot speak freely, or thinks better in writing.
What an hour holds
Sixty minutes, spent deliberately.
- First 10 min
Settling in
The first minutes go on what has actually been happening lately, in your words. No forms, no full history recital.
- Middle 40 min
The real work
Most of the hour goes here. Not the last argument on its own, but the pattern underneath it, and your part in it.
- Last 10 min
One thing to take
The last minutes land on one thing to watch or try before the next session. One, not five.
What people bring
Most people arrive with a pattern they want to change.
Sixteen ways in. One psychologist behind all of them.
Who you would be talking to
Fifteen years, and most of it heard before.
A psychologist who works across general mental health and relationships alike.
MSc Applied Psychology
Zahid Sohail is a psychologist. Day to day that means two kinds of work. The first is the general mental health side: depression, anxiety, stress, anger and emotional regulation. The second is a relationship specialism built across marriage, couples, family and premarital work.
Mental health and relationship concerns can overlap. Sleep, prolonged stress, family pressure and repeated conflict may affect more than one part of life at once. Whichever door you come in through, the session follows the concern you describe.
Fifteen years in practice informs a direct approach to what counseling may help you examine and what it cannot decide for you. Some concerns involve a pattern to work on; others involve a decision that remains yours.

Professional boundaries
Trust starts with what counseling does not promise.
Counseling is a structured conversation, not a guaranteed result. It can help you understand a pattern, consider your options and practise a different response. It cannot control another person, promise a repaired relationship or decide for you.
You can begin with one session, ask direct questions about the approach and stop if the work does not feel useful. A package lowers the price per session; it does not lock you into a fixed course of care.

The free 10-minute call lets you outline the concern, hear how Zahid would approach it and decide whether a full session makes sense.
Your choices remain yours
A psychologist can help you examine patterns, options and consequences. The final decisions about a relationship, family or next step stay with you.
Progress is open for discussion
You can say when something is not helping. The focus can change, the format can change, or you can stop without having to justify the decision.
Different needs may require different help
If what you describe falls outside this counseling service, the responsible next step is to say so clearly and help you identify the kind of professional support to look for.
A note on language
The right word often arrives in the language you actually live in.
Sessions can run in English, Urdu or Punjabi, and you can switch between them when one language carries a thought more precisely than another. You do not have to translate every feeling into English before it can be discussed. More about how Zahid works.
How it works
Four practical steps to a first session.
Pick a time
Choose a slot, or send a WhatsApp message and support finds one with you. Name, phone and email is all that is asked.
Pay by transfer
Bank transfer, EasyPaisa or JazzCash. Send the receipt on WhatsApp and the slot is confirmed.
Join the session
A private link arrives by SMS and WhatsApp. Audio only is fine, camera off is fine.
Confirmations name a time and nothing else. Never the service, never the reason. More on how online sessions work.
Private by design
Privacy is discussed, not assumed.
Online sessions remove a physical waiting room, but privacy still depends on your room, device and account access. Ask how confidentiality and message handling apply before you begin.
Confidentiality has clear limits
What you share is confidential within professional and legal limits. You can ask how those limits apply before you begin.
No physical waiting room
Sessions are online, so there is no clinic to sit in and nobody to run into on the way out.
Discreet confirmations
Booking messages are designed to name the time, not the service or reason. Check notification previews if you share a phone.
WhatsApp has its own privacy settings
Deleting a thread from your phone may not remove copies or backups elsewhere. Ask how booking messages and receipts are retained.
Fees
Every price is on this page.
The first ten minutes are free for first-time clients in any format. After that, buy one session or a package. Packages are optional and you are never asked to buy one to be seen.

Choosing how to start
One session or a package?
Start with one session when you are checking fit or do not yet know the pace you want. A package lowers the per-session fee, but it is optional and should only follow clear answers about format, validity and terms.
Keep the first decision small.
Choose one individual or couple session if you want a complete appointment without committing to further sessions. Decide what follows after you have experienced the conversation.
Pay less when the plan is clear.
A package can make sense when continued work has a defined purpose. Confirm its validity, booking pace, cancellation terms and upfront total before paying.
Use writing when it suits your privacy.
Text chat is day-based rather than a live appointment. Confirm reply times, account privacy and how messages are handled before choosing 7, 14 or 30 days.
Before you book
Questions people ask before they book.
Do you only work with relationship problems, or with depression and anxiety too?
Both. Zahid Sohail provides counseling for marriage, couple and family concerns as well as depression, anxiety, stress, anger and emotional regulation. Mental health and relationship concerns can overlap, so the first conversation focuses on what is happening in your situation rather than forcing it into one category.
Can I come to counseling on my own if my partner will not?
Yes. A session can focus on what you can control: your part in the pattern, what you want, how you communicate and what boundaries you need. A partner may join later, but their attendance is not required for you to begin.
What actually happens in the first ten minutes?
It is a short introductory call. You outline what is going on, Zahid explains how he would approach it, and you decide whether to book a full session. There is no payment and you are not required to continue. Book the free call.
How much does a counseling session cost in Pakistan?
A single 60 minute individual session is Rs. 2,000, while a single 90 minute couple session is Rs. 3,000. Optional packages reduce those rates to as little as Rs. 1,500 and Rs. 2,250 per session respectively. Text chat starts at Rs. 1,000 for 7 days. The first 10 minute introductory call is free for first-time clients. Every price is listed in the fees section above.
How many sessions will I need?
No fixed number can be promised. The length depends on the concern, your goals, whether the approach feels useful and what changes between sessions. You can start with one session, review the fit as you go and choose a package only if the lower per-session price suits you.
How is my privacy handled?
What you share is confidential within professional and legal limits. Online sessions remove a physical waiting room, and booking messages are designed not to name the reason for your appointment. Privacy also depends on your room, device, notification previews and account access, so ask about the limits and message-retention process before you begin.
Can counseling be done in Urdu?
Yes. Sessions can run in English, Urdu or Punjabi. You can also switch languages during a session when one carries a thought or feeling more precisely than another.
Is a psychologist the right person for what I am dealing with?
Zahid Sohail provides psychological counseling for emotional and relationship concerns. The free introductory call gives you a chance to discuss what you need and whether his approach is a suitable fit. More about his background.
What if I do not know what to say?
You do not need a prepared account. The counselor asks the questions. Saying something has been off for a while and you cannot explain it is a completely normal way to start.
Can I reschedule or cancel a session?
Message on WhatsApp before your slot. The current rescheduling, cancellation and refund terms are set out on the fees and packages page; read them before paying so you know which changes qualify.
I live outside Pakistan. Can I still book?
Yes. Online appointments are available to people in Pakistan and overseas. Sessions are booked in Pakistan Standard Time and the confirmation includes your local time. Check both times before joining. The fees shown on this page apply worldwide.
Can I start with text chat and move to calls later?
Yes. You can ask to change between text chat and calls as your privacy and schedule change. Before switching, confirm how previous messages will be used or retained so you know what context carries into the next format. How text chat works.
What if it is not helping?
Raise it early and plainly. Not every match or approach works for every person. You can discuss changing the focus, changing format, pausing, or looking for a different kind of professional support. How unused package sessions are handled is explained on the fees and packages page.
Does counseling guarantee that my mood or relationship will improve?
No. Counseling can help you understand patterns, consider options and practise different responses, but no responsible service can guarantee an outcome or control another person’s choices. The free call and first session are opportunities to decide whether the approach fits what you need.
What if I need medical advice or a different specialist?
This page describes psychological counseling, not medication advice or every form of mental health care. Use the free introductory call to explain what you need. If the concern falls outside this service, ask what kind of qualified professional or service would be more appropriate.
Say the difficult part out loud.
Once, properly, to someone whose job is to hear it. If the approach fits, you can carry on. If it does not, you are not required to continue. The first ten minutes are free.
