When to bother
When is stress worth a session?
Short-term pressure that lifts when the deadline passes is ordinary. The version worth a session is the one that no longer lifts: the body stays switched on, sleep does not restore anything, and rest feels like something you have to justify.
By that point most people have already tried the obvious fixes. A session is less about advice and more about separating the load into what is genuinely fixed and what has simply never been renegotiated.
How it usually shows up
Stress rarely arrives labelled as stress.
- Sleep that starts late and ends early
- A short temper with the people least responsible for it
- Concentration that slides after twenty minutes
- Headaches, jaw tension, stomach trouble with no medical cause found
- Working longer to feel in control, and getting less done
- Cancelling the things that used to restore you

What can a session focus on?
Itemising the load
Demands, recovery and boundaries listed separately. Most people are carrying two loads they have never counted.
What is fixed and what is not
Some pressure genuinely cannot move. Knowing which part is which stops effort going where it cannot help.
The conversations not being had
A great deal of sustained stress is a request that has never been made to a boss, a spouse or a parent.
Recovery that actually restores
Scrolling is not rest. What counts as recovery is specific to you and worth identifying.
Stress, anxiety and burnout: the difference
Stress is a response to demand, and it usually eases when the demand does. Anxiety persists even when the immediate demand is gone, and attaches to future possibilities. Burnout, which the World Health Organization describes as an occupational phenomenon rather than a medical condition, is what happens when work pressure goes unmanaged for long enough.
The distinction matters because it changes what helps. Reducing demand helps stress. Anxiety usually needs the loop examined directly.
If worry continues after the pressure lifts, the anxiety counseling page is the better starting point.

What the research says
- The WHO defines stress as a state of worry or mental tension caused by a difficult situation, and lists a daily routine, enough sleep and staying connected to trusted people among the first things that help. [1]
- Talking therapies involve speaking with a trained professional about your thoughts, feelings and behaviour, and are used for a wide range of difficulties. [2]
- A 2018 systematic review comparing guided internet-based and face-to-face cognitive behavioural therapy found the two formats gave broadly equivalent results, while noting more research is still needed for some conditions. [3]

Questions, answered
Questions people ask.
What kind of therapy is best for stress?
Most stress work involves identifying the specific pressures, what they cost you in sleep, temper and focus, and what is actually within your control. Public health guidance supports structured talking approaches over general advice.
When does stress become worth getting help for?
A useful marker is when it has stopped lifting between pressures, or when sleep, temper or concentration have shifted and stayed shifted. You do not have to reach a crisis to book a session.
How much is a stress counseling session?
Rs. 2,000 for a 60-minute individual session. The first 10-minute introductory call is free for first-time clients if you want to check the fit before paying.
Can I get help for work stress without my employer knowing?
Yes. This is a private practice and sessions are not reported to an employer. Confidentiality and its limits are set out in the privacy policy.
Can stress counseling be done over WhatsApp text?
Yes. WhatsApp text plans start at Rs. 1,000 for seven days and suit people who cannot reliably find a private hour to speak out loud.
