Anxiety counseling at The Bonding Corner addresses constant worry, physical tension, panic episodes and avoidance through scheduled online sessions with psychologist Zahid Sohail. Individual sessions run 60 minutes for Rs. 2,000 in English, Urdu or Punjabi. Medication questions belong with a psychiatrist or physician, not a counseling session.

If you are in immediate danger or thinking about ending your life, this service is not the right one right now. Contact local emergency services, go to a hospital emergency department, or reach someone who can stay with you.
Day to day
What does anxiety look like day to day?
Often it looks like competence. The work gets done, the family is managed, and nobody sees the hours of rehearsal behind it, the checking, or the physical tension that does not release even on a free evening.
Anxiety also narrows life quietly. Each avoided situation makes sense on its own, and the pattern only becomes visible when you notice how much you have stopped doing.
What people describe
Some of these are physical, which is why people often see a doctor first.
- Worry that jumps between topics and never resolves
- A racing heart, tight chest, shallow breathing or a churning stomach
- Panic episodes that peak fast and leave you shaken
- Difficulty falling asleep because the day replays itself
- Avoiding calls, travel, gatherings or decisions
- Reassurance that helps for an hour and then wears off
In session
What can a session focus on?
The loop itself
Trigger, thought, physical response, action. Seeing the sequence slowly makes it less automatic.
What avoidance costs
Avoidance works immediately, which is exactly why it grows. Naming the price is the first step to changing it.
The specific fear
Vague dread is hard to work with. A specific feared outcome can be examined for how likely and how survivable it actually is.
Recovery, not just control
What you do after a bad episode matters as much as managing the episode itself.
Counseling, medication, or both?
Medication is a medical decision and belongs with a psychiatrist or physician. A psychologist does not prescribe, and will say so plainly rather than offering an opinion on your prescription.
Many people use both. Guidance from bodies such as WHO and NICE supports structured talking therapy for anxiety, on its own or alongside medication, depending on severity and preference.
This page does not name a specific therapy protocol, because the methods listed on a service page should match the practitioner’s confirmed training.

What the research says
- Anxiety disorders are the most common mental health conditions worldwide. The World Health Organization estimates 470 million people had one in 2023. [1]
- The WHO describes psychological support, mainly talking with a trained professional, as an essential treatment for anxiety. [1]
- A 2018 systematic review comparing guided internet-based and face-to-face cognitive behavioural therapy found the two formats gave broadly equivalent results, while noting more research is still needed for some conditions. [2]

Questions, answered
Questions people ask.
What counselling is best for anxiety?
Guidance from bodies such as NICE and WHO supports structured talking therapies for anxiety, often cognitive behavioural in nature. The practice will only describe methods that Zahid Sohail is trained in, and will refer on where a specific protocol is required.
Should I see a psychologist or take medicine for anxiety?
Medication is a medical decision that belongs with a psychiatrist or physician. Counseling can run alongside medication, and many people use both. A psychologist cannot prescribe or adjust a prescription.
Can online counseling help with panic attacks?
Counseling can help you understand what sets panic off and what keeps the cycle going. It is not an emergency service, so if you are in immediate danger, contact emergency services first.
What does anxiety counseling actually involve?
Usually narrowing down to one situation: what happened, what you did, what it cost, and what a different response would cost. The aim is a pattern you can recognise rather than a diagnosis.
Is anxiety counseling available in Urdu?
Yes. Sessions run in English, Urdu or Punjabi, and you can move between them mid-sentence. Describing physical symptoms is often easier in the language you think in.
