What psychologists in Pakistan charge,
2026

We analysed the published fees of 166 psychologists across 14 cities. Here is the typical fee, what changes it, and what the listings leave out.

Collected
1 November 2026

In November 2026 the median published fee for a session with a psychologist on Marham, a Pakistani doctor-booking site, was Rs. 2,000. That figure comes from 166 psychologists listed across 14 cities and the online-consultation page. Half charged between Rs. 1,050 and Rs. 2,975; 63% charged Rs. 2,000 or less, and 25% charged Rs. 3,000 or more. Fees tended to rise with experience. Listings almost never state how long a session lasts.

Key findings

Five things the data shows

01

The typical fee is Rs. 2,000

The median published fee across 166 psychologists. The middle half charged between Rs. 1,050 and Rs. 2,975.

02

63% charge Rs. 2,000 or less

Only 25% charge Rs. 3,000 or more, and the highest published fee was Rs. 7,000.

03

Fees rise with experience, up to a point

Median Rs. 1,250 under 5 years of experience, Rs. 2,000 at 5 to 9 years and Rs. 3,000 at 10 to 14 years. Spearman correlation between years and fee: 0.41 (141 psychologists).

04

Online is a little cheaper

Online-consultation listings: median Rs. 1,750 (125). Clinic listings: median Rs. 2,000 (41).

05

Session length is missing

The listings state a fee but almost never a duration, so Rs. 2,000 could buy 30 minutes or an hour. Ask before you book.

Qualification is the highest degree named on the profile, as written by the psychologist.

How the data was collected

On 1 November 2026 we read the first page of Marham’s psychologist listings for 14 cities (Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Peshawar, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Hyderabad, Quetta, Sargodha, Bahawalpur and Abbottabad) and its online-consultation listing, then each listed psychologist’s public profile.

  • 166 different psychologists after removing people who appeared in more than one city.
  • Fee: the figure the profile says the psychologist charges. Where only a range was published, the lower end of the listing range.
  • Experience and qualification: as written on the profile by the psychologist.
  • Only pages that Marham’s robots.txt allows were read, with a pause between requests.
  • Names are not published here. The anonymised data (fee, experience band, qualification band, listing type) is available on request.

The Bonding Corner’s own Marham listing was not in the sample and would have been excluded.

Limits of this study

These numbers describe published fees on one platform at one point in time. They are useful for comparison, not as an official rate.

  • Marham orders its listings itself, so the first page may favour busy or promoted profiles. It is not a random sample of psychologists in Pakistan.
  • Twelve psychologists per city is too few to compare cities reliably, so city figures are not shown.
  • Session length is not published, so fees cannot be compared per hour.
  • Public hospitals, NGOs and psychologists who are not on Marham are not included.
  • Qualifications and experience are self-reported and were not verified.
  • The Bonding Corner is a paid counseling practice and so has an interest in this subject. That is why the method and limits are published in full.

Using this

What it means if you are choosing a psychologist

A fee says little on its own. Two psychologists charging Rs. 2,000 may offer 30 minutes and 60 minutes. The cheapest per session is not always the cheapest per hour.

For comparison, a session at The Bonding Corner is Rs. 2,000 for 60 minutes with psychologist Zahid Sohail, and every price is published.

Five questions to ask first

  • How long is the session?
  • What is your degree, and are you registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council?
  • Is this a psychologist (talking therapy) or a psychiatrist (medication)? See the difference.
  • What does it cost to cancel or reschedule?
  • If money is tight: what is genuinely free.

Questions, answered

Questions people ask.

How much does a psychologist charge in Pakistan?

Across 166 psychologists listed on Marham in November 2026, the median fee was Rs. 2,000 a session and half charged between Rs. 1,050 and Rs. 2,975. Fees ranged from Rs. 300 to Rs. 7,000.

Is online therapy cheaper than seeing a psychologist in a clinic?

Slightly, on these listings. Online-consultation listings had a median of Rs. 1,750 against Rs. 2,000 for clinic listings. The same psychologist often charges the same for both.

Do more experienced psychologists charge more?

On average, yes. The median rose from Rs. 1,250 for psychologists with under 5 years of experience to Rs. 3,000 for 10 to 14 years. The link is moderate (Spearman correlation 0.41), so many experienced psychologists still charge modest fees.

Why do other websites say therapy in Pakistan costs Rs. 2,500 to 8,000?

That range, from TherapyRoute, describes advertised fees of private practices in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. A wider sample of listed psychologists, including smaller cities and online consultations, sits lower. Both can be true: the price depends heavily on who you see and where.

What should I ask before paying for a session?

Ask how long the session lasts, what the psychologist’s degree is, whether they are registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council, whether the fee includes follow-up messages, and what happens if you need to cancel.
